Lower L band filters for highly precise satellite navigation
RF360 is expanding its lineup of products for satellite navigation systems with new SAW filters, diplexers and double hump filters for the lower L band between 1164 MHz and 1300 MHz. The lower L band comprises bands L2 and L5 for GPS, G2 and G3 for GLONASS, and bands E5a/E5b and E6 for Galileo. These bands are to be used in addition to the upper L band between 1559 MHz and 1610 MHz in order to enable highly precise satellite navigation for exact position detection on the road in the centimeter range, a prerequisite for self-driving vehicles. The new components complete the RF360's portfolio of SAW filters for the upper L band, which is used by GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and BeiDou. The new low-loss filters feature a usable passband of between 10 MHz and 87 MHz, depending on type, and are available in package sizes of 3 mm x 3 mm x 1.1 mm and 1.4 mm x 1.1 mm x 0.4 mm. They offer a maximum operating temperature of up to 125 °C and are qualified to AEC-Q200.
